Marian Kwei (formerly Kihogo) has been deemed an influence on fashion (Consul Press). Her influence on fashion been likened to the influence Africa had on the work of Picasso, Christian Dior and Yves Saint Laurent.

A force for change, Marian has championed representation and diversity within the industry. She made history as the first Black person to grace the first major magazine cover starring social media icons. She was involved in the recent Channel 4 2024 TV SERIES - ‘New Model Agency’, a show about how Zebedee Talent - an agency for those with disabilities and visible differences is driving the inclusion revolution in fashion. She is also a 2024 recipient of the penultimate UK photography award, The British Journal of Photography’s ‘Portrait of Britain Award’ which celebrates diversity, inclusion and representation. In her bid to continue to continue to champion for diversity and representation she has recently starred on major magazine covers such as InStyle Magazine .

A trailblazer, Marian was UK Editor at revolutionary digital fashion magazine, Dirrty Glam, which helped shaped the face of digital media and social media. The publication was the first major online magazine and boasted celebrity covers such as Sienna Miller, Emma Watson, Lily Allen, Mischa Barton, Kristin Cavallari etc. Continuing to make history, as author of Mariankihogo.com a blog recommended and featured by the best in media and fashion, Marian was the first Black woman to star on the first major magazine to star social media profiles and was the first Black social media icon to collaborate with varying high fashion brands.

Marian’s style which would be best described as a layered 70’s inspired experience that is the meeting place of structure, texture, print and colour as informed by her life experience (an assimilation of her West African heritage and a Western upbringing) has been listed in the penultimate best dressed lists in the world. Her unique experience of having been born in The Gambia to parents of Ghanaian heritage and raised in Berkshire in the UK, Nigeria, Ghana and The Gambia brings a unique mastery of structure, colour, aesthetic, culture and societal influence to her work as a stylist and consultant.
